Houseplants are just like us—they need food, water, and a little bit of vitamin D. Join Maplewood Garden Club on Monday, January 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker Street, Maplewood for a fun talk, in which you’ll learn how to keep your indoor plants thriving. Stephen Barlow, the second-generation owner of Barlow’s Flower Farm in Sea Girt and named one of the “Top 40 Growers Under 40” by Greenhouse Product News, will fill you in on everything you need to know about houseplants, including watering needs, fertilizing, light requirements, repotting, and more. During his talk, “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Houseplants,” Stephen will explain how to select the best plants for each type of lighting situation, focusing on low light, indirect light, and bright light. Get your green on this winter and breathe easy with the best houseplants for your home! His talk follows a short business meeting and is free and open to all. No RSVP is required. http://www.maplewoodgardenclub.org / https://www.facebook.com/MaplewoodGardenClub / http://www.barlowflowerfarm.com
