The Landmark Trees of Summit
A talk by City Forester John Linson and RRA's Director of Horticulture, Marc Montefusco at the Summit Free Public Library. The Friends of the Summit Free Public Library, in conjunction with the City of Summit Shade Tree Advisory Committee, invite the public to a slide show and discussion of the "Landmark Trees of Summit -- Revisited" as part of the City's 2018 Arbor Day celebrations. The presentation has been updated and expanded from the popular 2014 program on the same topic. Discussions will include what constitutes a "landmark" tree, the City's efforts to identify and preserve such specimens, and factors threatening their survival. A slide show of the ever-changing list of remarkable and historic trees in Summit will be presented. After the program, Mr. Linson, Mr Montefusco, and members of the Shade Tree Advisory Committee will be available for questions at a reception. The program is free and all are welcome.
