About Us

Keys 2 Success brings quality music education to Pre-K to 8th-grade students in the most underserved areas of Newark. Our free, daily piano lessons are delivered in a group setting in the students' own environment, where teachers and volunteers work to remove barriers and support students as they develop into future leaders.

Founded in 2016 by New Providence resident, Juilliard-trained musician, and MIT graduate, Jee-Hoon Krska. Since its inception, Keys 2 Success has connected scores of volunteers from the New Providence, Summit, and Berkeley Heights to students in Newark. Volunteers, ranging in age from middle-schoolers to retirees, help in all aspects of the organization, including teaching, grant writing, collecting instruments, social media, and fundraising.

Keys 2 Success is a community partner of the Junior League of Summit and the New Providence United Methodist Church. Students from the New Providence High School our programs by volunteering in our Penpal Program and helping with our annual Practice-A-Thon event in the Spring. Volunteers from the Summit College Club help teach our students on our virtual platform.

Keys 2 Success has been recognized by the Lin-Manuel Miranda Tee Rico Award and the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey Cynthia Platt Award. Our students have performed with the NJ Symphony and the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey.
