Join us for a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to visit two wonderful exhibits. Cubism: The Leonard A Lauder Collection will be the most important exhibition of the Cubists in more than 30 years. It will be the first time it will be seen in its entirety since Mr. Lauder pledged it to the museum in 2013. On display, George Braque (French, 1882-1963), Juan Gris (Spanish, 1887-1927), Fernand Leger (French, 1881-1955) and Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)-. The museum will also have on exhibit Dan Graham?s installation located on the Museum?s Roof garden, part garden maze, part modernist skyscraper façade; enjoy beautiful views of the changing foliage in central park from the rooftop garden. In the early afternoon we will board the bus and travel to Fort Tryon Park for a sit down lunch at the New Leaf Café. The restaurant?s 1930?s cottage and outdoor patio offer a truly unique dining experience and all proceeds from the restaurant benefit the NY Restoration project started by Bette Midler in 2001. After lunch we will visit The Cloisters museum, and gardens devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe where we will enjoy a private tour of the museum and gardens and once again enjoy the beautiful changing landscape of the park. The Cloisters is celebrating its 75th anniversary! Register early seating is limited by calling the member services desk at 908-273-3330.
