The Cerebral Palsy League 11th Annual 5K Run
The event will feature USA Track and Field members, Miss Wheelchair New Jersey Maggie Redden, friends and families of the Cerebral Palsy League and representatives from Kean University.
The Cerebral Palsy League (CPL) is a non-profit organization that has served thousands of infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout central and northern New Jersey. It operates with the mission of helping every individual reach their fullest potential, so they may lead happy and productive lives as participating members of their communities.
CPL’s 5K Run was established to support CPL’s Center for Adult Services. The event will feature a complimentary breakfast with family fun games and activities. In addition, races for various abilities will be held including the 5K, 1 Mile Ramble, and Kids’ Dashes. Awards will be given for all races based on age categories and gender.
Executive Director Patricia Tekel stated, “I am so grateful to all the individuals and organizations who have contributed to this annual event. Your commitment and dedication will make a significant difference in improving the lives of our clients and their families.”
The Cerebral Palsy League’s Center for Adult Services offers adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to continue moving forward with their aspirations of fulfilled lifestyles. The center provides day habilitation, vocational and work experiences, community inclusion and support, transportation, social and recreational opportunities, and transitional services.
