May 6 First Friday - The Mid East and Your Local Business
TOPIC:
The New Middle East - the dramatic events which have been unfolding across the Middle East since January represent the most profound transformation of the region in nearly a century. Although we do not yet know the full extent of the change now underway, it's already clear that the region will never be the same. Professor Taylor will offer his preliminary impressions and reflections on how the region is being transformed and what the implications these changes have for the U.S. in both the short- and long-term.m.
Chris Taylor is Professor of Religion and Islamic Studies and Director of the Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict (CRCC) at Drew University.
He is also the past director of Drew s Middle East Studies Program and former Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Drew.
