On January 4th, the Maplewood Garden Club invites you to Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker Street, at 7:30pm to learn about landscape design. How does one create a garden that expresses a personal vision and imbues a unique sense of place? Allan Summers, a registered landscape architect, will explain how a project evolves from the initial concepts to the development of the design and finally, construction. He will show us how a garden is a dynamic work of art involving the elements and principles of design, time, function, architecture, and a relationship between culture and nature. Along with creativity, horticultural expertise, and environmental stewardship, Allan explores the process whereby inspiration is transformed from vision to garden.
