History of Masonic Lodge #93 F & AM in Madison
Greg LaConte, a past master of the Lodge and currently serving in the position of Senior Warden and Edgar Coster, a past Master of the Lodge, who now serves in the post of Lodge Secretary will discuss the history of both Madison Lodge #93 F&AM and the organization's building, with a focus on the role that both have played in the history of Chatham. The building was originally erected in 1824 as the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township. Madison Lodge was formed in 1869, when Madison was still part of Chatham Township, and has resided at their current facilities since 1931. Madison Lodge continues to play a role in the Chatham community. Mr. LaConte currently serves as Township Clerk for Chatham Township and is a Township resident. Mr. Coster has served on the Chatham Township Board of Education.
