Get On Board
The Junior League of Summit, in coordination with the State Council of all New Jersey Junior Leagues is offering open registration for its Get On Board program. This immersive, one-day training program is designed to provide training in the essential elements for being an effective and meaningful non-profit board member. The program is open to those currently serving on non-profit boards, as well as individuals who are interested in doing so. The 2017 program will include programs on: Mission-Driven Board Meets Servant Leadership; Board Member Roles and Responsibilities; Finance 101; Marketing Strategies for Nonprofit Organizations; Brand Development; Risk Management; Committee Management; Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Competence; Fund Development; Membership and Development; and Birkman Personality and Career Assessment. The program also includes an optional "matching" component, to try to introduce individuals who have completed the program to non-profit organizations that are seeking board members.
