"Flappers" and "Sheiks" - Fashion in the Twenties presented by Nancy Deihl, Director of M.A. Program in Costume Studies, New York University
The exuberant spirit and energy of The Roaring ‘20s was expressed through its cutting-edge fashion trends. Popular dance, travel and leisure all influenced the way people dressed. Daring youth-driven styles included bobbed haircuts and shorter hemlines for women and collegiate sportswear for men. This presentation will explore the vibrant, colorful fashion of the 1920s – a period that continues to inspire today.
