Curse of the Starving Class Play Reading

The Sam Shepard play reading series will present "Curse of the Starving Class", on Friday, December 13th at 8:00 pm at MONDO in downtown summit. The cast consists of local actors who have performed at The Summit Playhouse and/or The Chatham Community Players include Dale Monroe, Stacey Petricha, Jessica Phelan, Jeff Maschi, Richard Kessler, Frank Blauer, FJ DeRobertis, Dennis Conaway and Arnold Buchiane. The cast will also include Frank Licato, the Director. Curse of the Starving Class is a very sophisticated drama that seeks to link deep archetypal themes of human suffering and fate to very specific and contemporary political and social issues. The family whose plight is dramatized are indeed beset by a curse about which they can do nothing, but Shepard refuses to specify what that curse is. The play is clearly a symbolic drama.
