For Immediate Release Contact: Pam Mansfield 973 635-4565 PAPER SHREDDING EVENT TO BENEFIT SENIOR SERVICES Documents, Newspapers, Magazines and Paperback Books Accepted Chatham---Shed your unwanted paper at our annual Spring Shred Event! Senior Services of the Chathams announces a Spring Cleaning Community Shred fundraiser to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chatham train station, Fairmount Ave. "The shred service is an eco-friendly solution to purge personal documents in a confidential way. The timing is designed to coincide with spring cleaning efforts and to follow tax time," says Pam Mansfield, Executive Director. The public is invited to participate, and the cost is $10 per cardboard box and $5 per brown paper grocery bag. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed. Newspapers, magazines and paperback books will be accepted, too. Money raised from the event will be used to fund wellness programs at the Senior Center. For more information, call 973 635-4565. Senior Services of the Chathams began as an outreach project of Interfaith Council of Churches and was quickly spun off into an independent 501(c)(3) organization. The 25 year-old agency runs fitness programs, support groups, a transportation service for those that don?t drive, and an information and referral service for a variety of geriatric issues including home health care needs, changes in Medicare, when to stop driving, assisted living, and government services.
