DESCRIPTION:A Trenton Update from Summit's Assemblywoman Nancy F. Mu oz who was sworn into office on May 21\, 2009 filling the unexpired term of her late husband Assemblyman Eric Mu oz\, M. D.  On November 3\, 2009 she was elected to her first 2-year term representing the 21st Legislative District which includes 16 towns in Essex\, Morris\, Somerset and Union counties.\n\n	Assemblywoman Mu oz is a graduate of Skidmore College where she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing\; she earned her master's degree as a clinical nurse specialist from Hunter College.  She has worked as a nurse in surgical intensive care at Yale-New Haven Hospital and has also worked at Massachusetts General\, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Overlook Hospital in Summit\, New Jersey.\n\n	Assemblywoman Mu oz is serving on the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee and the Assembly Commerce and Economic Development Committee.  She currently serves as the Deputy Republican Whip after serving as Policy Co-Chair from 2012 to 2013.\n\n	Assemblywoman Mu oz resides in Summit with her five children and has served as the president of the Parent Teacher Associations/Organizations at Summit's elementary\, middle and high school as well as serving as the President of the President's Council.  She has developed a passion for education and human services issues both from the personal and fiscal perspectives.
