The Power of Story - Fueling Her Dreams (for girls 8-12 years old at Reeves-Reed Arboretum
Do you remember the last time your girl told you a story that made her laugh and glow? How about a story that made her hurt, sad and confused? Stories bring out emotions and either push us forward or hold us back. If we tell ourselves (or others) a story about how we aren't athletic, we may never try to play a sport or even exercise. If we tell ourselves we aren't artistic, we may never go paint pottery with friends for fun, or feel mediocre while doing it. It's the stories we tell over and over again that shape our approach to life, for better or for worse. The goal of this class is to arm your girl with stories she can tell to bolster her self-confidence and help her move forward with support and positivity. In this class your girl will learn: Which of her stories can help her Which stories are holding her back How to use her stories as fuel to move her forward How to change a story that's holding her back What her "why" is - a key ingredient to story telling and engaging others We'll have fun, help each other and tell stories that come from the heart so she can move forward toward achieving her dreams or goals. While your girl can benefit from taking the series, each class stands alone and offers its own unique benefit. Attending the other classes is not necessary. Class includes a lesson, snack (nut-free), craft and brief walk in the arboretum grounds, weather permitting. Enrollment is limited to accommodate for personal attention and growth. The next session in this series is "Gratitude Attitude - Having Eyes for the Gifts", Saturday, May 5.
