Prison Reform in New Jersey
Since New Jersey’s prison population reached more than 31,000 in 1999, the state has taken a leadership role in prison reform efforts, implementing research and scientific needs assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions. These reforms have reduced the incarceration by 40%. These reforms will be discussed by Daniel Lombardo President/CEO of Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. Dan has been chosen by the last five NJ Governors to serve on various teams for correction policy studies.
